MBLD have been appointed to develop a scheme for the new Aquarena in Worthing.  Wilkinson Eyre Architects were appointed through a RIBA competition to design a new iconic swimming pool complex at the end of 2009.  MBLD will be working closely with WEA, AECOM, and Drivers Jonas Deloitte to complete schemes for facades, landscapes and interiors.

Maurice Brill Lighting Design have been awarded 1st place in the lighting design concept for the Collingwood Monument. The North Tyneside Council invited designers to put forward proposals for lighting the Grade II listed memorial to the Admiral Lord Collingwood. The implementation of the lighting design will mark the bicentenary of Collingwood’s death.

MBLD put forward two lighting design schemes, a permanent design and a temporary event scheme.

Phase 2 of the Regent's Place lighting design has recently been completed. The central feature of this phase of British Land’s Regent’s Place masterplan by Architects Terry Farrell & Partners is the competition winning Pavilion by Carmody Groarke.

MBLD are very pleased to have been commended in the Lighting Design Awards 2010 Workplace lighting design category for 201 Bishopsgate and Broadgate Tower.

MBLD have been shortlisted in the Lighting Scheme category of the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2010 for Nobu Restaurant at One&Only Cape Town Resort, South Africa.

MBLD are proud to have won the Workplace lighting design category at the 2009 Lighting Design Awards for the refurbishment of 133 Houndsditch, London. The judges said that this was an excellent integration of light and architecture. There is a particularly skilful use of reflected light in the lift lobbies. It was a bold decision to use indirect light as the only source in that space.’

Aniket's paper focuses on how glazing has and can transform or mould the lighting design of interior spaces. Also, he talks how there have been taken and can be different ways of successfully exploiting the lantern effect. The paper also discusses the short comings of this concept, how if wrongly used, it can damage the lit atmosphere of the surroundings and cause light pollution and energy wastage.
